Eurocircle’s Chistmas Village Get-Together

Let’s get together at the Christmas Village, eat some raclette ❤️ grab a beer or cider, and do some holiday shopping. I propose noon as a good time to start. If you are in, say so below. This year’s Christmas Village has more food choices and an enclosed beer garden.

Autumn Hike

Let’s enjoy fall foliage, crisp weather and Philly’s most beautiful hiking trails, with a Eurocircle hike in the Wissahickon. We will meet in front of the Valley Green Inn. Depending on how many people show up, we may break off into 2 groups. We will choose the trail depending on skill level of attendees.

**Please be advised that this is the most popular time to hike here, so parking will be limited. Give yourself extra time to find a parking spot. I aim to park early in front of Valley Green Inn. The entry point is off Ridge Avenue, down Wises Mill Road. You may have to park near Ridge Avenue, and walk down into the park.
Also, the lots are not paved here, and SUV or an Uber might be the way to go.

What to bring: Hiking shoes, water/snacks.
I haven’t planned a post hike lunch/brunch. If anyone has suggestions, please message me.

EuroCircle’s Mixology Night

Join my co-hostess Valeria Khmelnitsky and me for a casual mixer at the newly opened Gin & Pop. Owner, Tom Kwiatkowski, formerly of the Capital Grille, Del Frisco’s and Union Trust will teach us how to make a couple of basic cocktails everyone should know how to mix.

He will show us how to make a proper old-fashioned, as well as a classic whiskey sour. We will go over technique as well as what ingredients you’ll need to stock in your home bar.

Kasia Hopek,  Poland– A world traveler, and a beautiful fixture on Philly’s social scene, Kasia is an executive at Adaptimmune. When she isn’t busy with work, she is finishing her masters at The University of Pennsylvania.

Nanchka “Nancy” Nguyen- Though her background is in graphic design, her real talent is creating delectable menus for her catering company, Nanette’s Kitchen. She was recently spotlighted in Travel Junkies: You Ate What?? documenting her travels tasting unusual foods through Vietnam.

This will be a fashion evening, and guests will be able to try on creations by K.Vaughn Designs scarves.

Join us as we honor Steve McCurry, a native Philadelphian, as our 127th “Explorer of the Year”. As such, he joins the ranks of Theodore Roosevelt, Jacques Cousteau, and Robert E. Peary. The Geographical Society of Philadelphia honors McCurry for capturing history’s most captivating moments on camera.
