Led by suave, European host-owners Alex von Bidder and Julian Niccolini Four Seasons Restaurant delivers superior service, first-class Continental cuisine to an urbane crowd that is considered “who’s who in the city”. The regulars tout lunching among “power players” in the Grill Room or dining in the Serene “Pool Room” at night. The Four Seasons philosophy is “less is more” – figures it was designed by Philip Johnson and Mies can der Rohe. And yes, it is expensive – but guess what, you are worth it! Treat yourself!

Scandinavia is a historical and geographical region centered on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe which includes the three kingdoms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The other Nordic countries, Finland and Iceland (+ the Faroe Islands), are also sometimes included because of their close historic and cultural relations to Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

Although it depends on context which countries are considered Scandinavian, the term the NORDIC COUNTRIES is used unambiguously for Norway, Sweden, Denmark (including the Faroe Islands and Greenland), Finland (including Åland) and Iceland.

EuroCircle welcomes other NORDIC/SCANDINAVIAN organizations/institutions/performers to participate this evening as co-hosts.

All the event attendees will be automatically enrolled for a raffle taking place later on in April at our next monthly networking event – the prize will be an airline ticket to TURKEY for one, donated by www.AlpTravel.com and bywww.ezticketsales.com.

Your event fee will include: admission, a sumptous Turkish dining experience created by Orhan Yegen, the ponytailed chef/owner of SIP SAK with the wandering whisk, who has been described something like the Jennifer Lopez of Turkish restaurants — he loves them, and then, alas, he leaves them. Orhan says about Turkish cooking that it’s the world’s finest cuisine, which we heard also at a lecture about the best 3 cuisines in the world inlcude French, Chinese and TURKISH. Orhan promised to provide us the best Turkish sampling (buffet style) of 6 different appetizers, entree, dessert, coffee). You will also enjoy open bar with Turkish wine, the famous Efes beer and a little taste of Raki. Not to mention that you will taste some Turkish Delights (thanks to Nihal from Alp Travel) and the miracle nuts from Turkey (hazelnuts.

You will enjoy also tasting the wonderful REYKA VODKA from Iceland.

Tango is such a passionate dance, Jak Karako and his partner from www.BailaTango.com/ny/ will perform during the evening. Born in Istanbul, Turkey Jak’s passion for dance started at age fourteen with international folk dancing. About the way Turks dance: Turkish tango is unique in the way the dancers approach the dance floor. Students are taught to be decisive – to move without hesitation. There are no steps like the boring “side-to-side”; in fact, ladies, when you are asked to dance, be ready, because the moment you hit the floor, you’re off! And the men generate so much energy in their lower bodies, you feel like a semi-truck is coming at you.
Sounds by Turkish DJ Palamuth, DJ Tossun and DJ BoFo from Flying Kilim Entertainment.

ATTIRE: Black tie or cocktail attire (meaning men do not have wear a tuxedo, dark suit is fine, mos women will dress short dresses but everything festive is acceptable)

Cuneyt Sengul at www.chesphoto.com/ will be responsible for the photography of the event.

Special decorative touches such as Turkish Kilims by IGBHome (Istanbul Grand Bazaar, Inc in Kearny, NJ) Shipping Line

Let’s just relax while dreaming about visiting this fascinating country.

“Turkey is a paradise of sun, sea, mountains, and lakes that offers the vacationer a complete change from the stress and routine of everyday life. From April to October, most places in Turkey have an ideal climate that is perfect for relaxing on sandy beaches or enjoying the tranquility of mountains and lakes.

Turkey also has a magnificent past, and is a land full of historic treasures from 13 successive civilizations spanning 10,000 years. Even if you spend only a short time in Turkey, you can see a lot of this great heritage.

There is no doubt that one visit will not be enough, and you will want to come back again and again as you discover one extraordinary place after another.
All of them, no matter how different, have one thing in common: the friendly and hospitable people of this unique country.

Luksusowa Vodka & Zubrowka Vodka will complete the tour around Europe! These exceptional upscale Polish Potato base vodkas are fantastic. Luksusowa, the Polish word for “luxury, has a superior taste that is a result of its potato-base. Most domestic vodkas are distilled from corn, most imported vodkas from rye. But Luksusowa is painstakingly made from Poland’s select potato crop grown exclusively in the Baltic coast region of North Poland. It takes ten times more potatoes than it would take of grain to make Luksusowa, the preferred vodka of people who can taste and appreciate the smoother texture and richer taste.

Wear your best Bond costume inspired by the films. Of course, all the men might eagerly come as James Bond, and the party would be filled with Bond look-alikes wearing tuxes (NICE, the ladies would like that) – a nice stylish outfit will be fine instead of a tux. Please no sloppy sneakers, t-shirts – stylish attire recommended. You can wear costumes inspired by other James Bond characters, including villains such as Blofeld, Dr. No or Goldfinger. As for the ladies, you can dress up as popular Bond girls, such as Octopussy, Honey Ryder, and Mary Goodnight, wearing their sexiest cocktail/evening wear – or bikinis if you happen to be lucky enough to look like a Bond girl.

Quotation from Wikipedia:
“Quantum of Solace (2008) is the 22nd James Bond film by EON Productions, released in the United Kingdom on 31 October 2008 and due in North America on 14 November. The sequel to the 2006 film Casino Royale, it is directed by Marc Forster, and features Daniel Craig’s second performance as James Bond. In the film, Bond battles Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a member of the Quantum organisation posing as an environmentalist, who intends to stage a coup d’état in Bolivia to take control of its water supply. Bond seeks revenge for the death of Vesper Lynd, and is assisted by Camille Montes (Olga Kurylenko).

Producer Michael G. Wilson created the film’s plot while Casino Royale was shooting. Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Paul Haggis and Joshua Zetumer contributed to the script. The title was chosen from a 1960 short story in Ian Fleming’s For Your Eyes Only, though the film does not contain any elements of the original story. Location filming took place in Panama, Chile, Italy and Austria, while interior sets were built and filmed at Pinewood Studios. Forster aimed to make a modern film that also featured classic cinema motifs: an antique aeroplane was used for a dogfight sequence, and Dennis Gassner’s set designs are reminiscent of Ken Adam’s work on several early Bond films. Taking a course away from the usual Bond villains, Forster rejected any grotesque appearance for the character Dominic Greene to emphasize the hidden and secret nature of the film’s (and society’s) modern day corporate villains.”

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.”

It’s pretty hard to tell what does bring happiness. Poverty and wealth have both failed. ~Frank McKinney “Kin” Hubbard

Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want. ~Margaret Young

Indeed, man wishes to be happy even when he so lives as to make happiness impossible. ~St. Augustine

Can anything be so elegant as to have few wants, and to serve them one’s self? ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second. ~Logan Pearsall Smith, Afterthoughts, 1931

– Calvin Coolidge
