Danes in NYC has existed since 2009 and the goals has since the beginning been to gather Danes in The Greater New York area to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere at networking events. Dennis Schindler-Thomsen ), Lars Eeg, Anders Krog and a few other Danes have run the group for many years.

FINLAND

Jonna Christensen: a singer, songwriter and a mental health advocate from Finland. She released 3 albums with Sony Music as the artist “Jonna” and paved the way for a new era of pop music in Finland. Jonna crowdfunded and released her 4th album “Sound Mind” in 2015 and embarked on a mission to raise mental health awareness through her music. Since moving to NYC in 2017, Jonna has been performing at various charity events in order to help raise money for the cause. https://www.jonnamusic.com

Oskari Nurminen: Finnish composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Brooklyn, NY. Over the years, he has worked on a variety of projects as a composer, songwriter, producer, mix engineer, and instrumentalist. Besides his work as a music creator, he also teaches as part of the adjunct faculty in the Songwriting program at NYU Steinhardt. https://www.oskarimusic.com/

SWEDEN

Lisa Sandberg: a native Swede who spent the last few years studying in New York. In May 2021 she graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Before her time in New York, Lisa lived in Norway and Australia where she worked in the hotel industry. She is an animal lover and always wants to talk about her dogs, Baby Groot and Rocket.
