Join us for a fun evening out in celebration of the Fall at the Empire Room where a portion of the bar will go to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation

A specialty cocktail EuroTini for $10.00.
2 oz Zante Liqueur (Pear flavored liqueur)
1 oz Premium Vodka
½ oz lime juice
1 oz cranberry juice
Shaken and poured into a chilled, sugar rimmed martini glass.

About Empire Room:

From the same man behind tony after-work destination Campbell Apartment comes the Empire Room, a swanky new bar and lounge in the Empire State Building. Although anyone who waits in line for hours to make it up all 102 floors probably deserves a drink, the Empire Room will actually be on the ground floor but it’s huge, clocking in at 3,500 square feet. In a past life the space was home to a post office, but as the Empire Room it’s been given a $500 million makeover and outfitted with an Art Deco-themed interior that “harken[s] back to the golden age of the 1920s and 30s,” according to owner Mark Grossich. Their diverse cocktail menu includes interesting mixes. Soak up the fancy booze with some truffled popcorn, miniature Wellingtons or rib-eye sliders.

Eurocircle’s Live Jazz with Anders Holst, Carlos Jimenez and Paula Jaakkola

Join us for a night of live jazz as we present two of our favorite and highly talented Eurocircle members at Taj Lounge.

ANDERS HOLST, a Swedish singer & songwriter and American Smooth Jazz Award nominee is what Adult Contemporary music has been waiting for. Blending smoky, emotive vocals with Anders’ signature velvety smooth sound, his new CD SOHO SUITE reflects an emotionally mature take on the nature of relationships and exhibits a new approach to adult contemporary composition and romantic music.

Yonkers, New York native CARLOS JIMENEZ is the next generation of extraordinary flute players. He follows in the footsteps of greats such as Dave Valentin and Nestor Torres. His talent and passion for Jazz, Latin Jazz, Salsa, as well as Brazilian and Asian sounds has resulted in him recording with many musical greats, including Hilton Ruiz, Stephane Ronget, Willie Cintron, Sonny Bravo and Edy Martinez.

Paula Jaakkola; New York City based musician, singer, songwriter and composer.

Our evening begins with EuroCircle’s signature cocktail the Eurotini, and then we’ll relax to enjoy the live performances of two talented jazz artists.

Don’t forget to participate in our raffle that benefits the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America as we will be giving away a signed Anders Holst CD as well as other valuable gifts.

The State Bar & Lounge is an upscale, classic lounge at the corner of Travis and Texas on the second floor of the Rice Lofts. Considered by many as one of the cornerstones of the Houston Downtown renaissance, it is also tribute to the glory days of the city’s oil boom. Much of the furniture and memorabilia are from the old Rice Hotel’s Capitol Club, a legendary locale from the turn of the century that witnessed such historic milestones as the first electrical lights and air conditioners of the city, prominent judges and oil men cementing the success of Southern Texas, and the last place where President Kennedy ate before traveling to Dallas in 1963. The State Bar & Lounge has resurrected the Capitol Club’s atmosphere and honed it to the times with the chic artwork of Houston artist, Alisson Stewart, a mahogany bar, high-arched windows, a private and distinct lounge, and a grand veranda overlooking much of downtown’s virgin growth and ambiance.
