The Mystery of the Paintings of Rene Magritte

The special private event will take place at 400 West 43rd Street (at 9th Avenue) in the second Floor Party room (Duke Ellington Room). It is a very nice space with big projection screens and plenty of space. The doors will open at 5PM and the presentation on Magritte’s life and work will start at 7PM.

There will be updates on the Musee Magritte Museum which opened on 2 June 2009 and which our host Frank Breuer visited in September and on a famous Magritte painting which was stolen from the Musee Rene Magritte Museum in Brussels on 24 September 2009
There is no admission, but PLEASE bring something to drink.
Rene Magritte is remembered as Belgium’s greatest 20th century artist and one of the godfathers of surrealism. He is on the summit of surrealism with Salvador Dali, looking down on the likes of Max Ernst and Marcel Duchamp. Margitte died in late 1960s.
