WHEN: Sunday, December 2,  2018 at 3:30pm

Cinematography: Tomasz Dobrowolski Cast: Jakub Gierszał, Katarzyna Figura, Tomasz Kot, and others. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxd9vPiXinY Synopsis Based on a true story set on the Polish/German border. It is a tale of the rise and fall of Zyga, a young Polish man who wants to take charge of his life after the fall of communism, a time of chaos and moral anarchy. Zyga is obsessed with the 1957 movie “3:10 to Yuma” — a cowboy tale of lawless anarchy on the frontier. Movie star handsome with an easy grin, Zyga starts smuggling cigarettes at the behest of his auntie Halina, who runs a brothel and Yuma ring where the mayor is a regular. Zyga is a witness to the complete degradation of life around him. The promised land never comes to his home town, while the Germans across the border seem to have it all. Zyga crosses the border and engages in a petty crime he calls “yuma”. Back home, handing out stolen goods makes him a quick hero. Before Zyga realizes what is happening to him, money and power overtake his naive dreams of a better life. “Yuma” is a hugely engrossing, great sweeping saga of Good versus Evil, Polish Western style.

Synopsis
Inspired by a true story, the film starts in a present-day Moscow terrorized by an elusive serial killer dubbed by the police “photographer” as he leaves numbered tiles at the scenes of his crimes, similar to those that forensic teams place. The investigators suspect links to a dark past of the 70-ties in Legnica, Poland, where the Soviet Red Army base used to station during the Cold War. The filmmaker spent his childhood and youth there and clearly remembers the times and events, some of which made it to his film. A young policewoman, Natasha, plays an active role in the hunt for the murderer. She is the only person who survived the encounter with the "Photographer". Why did he spare her life? How does Natasha know that the tracks of the murderer are to be followed in Poland?
