Specifically those with problematic skin. In the process I get to be their trusted friend \u2013 something that I am so grateful for!<\/p>\n<h4>What does your work entail?<\/h4>\n<p>Technical; complete skin care, hair removal, body treatments, anti-cellulite treatments, and make-up<br \/>\nCustomer Service; take care of my clients in every way that I can; help them take care of their skin; help them feel their best.<br \/>\nBusiness; manage shop and LePA team.<\/p>\n<h4>What\u2019s a typical work week like?<\/h4>\n<p>Owning own business is a 24\/7 job \u2013 I breathe it, I live it, and I love it!<\/p>\n<h4>How did you get started?<\/h4>\n<p>I got started as a 13 yr old at my mom\u2019s spa in Slovenia. Was lucky to look over her shoulder and learn the technical and customer-service side of the business at a young age. Since love brought me to Austin, I wanted to continue the family legacy in Austin as well so we opened LePA Skincare in 2008 (on my mother\u2019s birthday).<\/p>\n<h4>What do you like about what you do?<\/h4>\n<p>truly enjoy the craft and the rewarding feeling of helping people.<\/p>\n<h4>What do you dislike?<\/h4>\n<p>Sometimes the commitment required to run a business weighs heavily on personal\/social life.<\/p>\n<h4>Is it hard as a foreigner in this business to make it success in Austin?<\/h4>\n<p>No, being a foreigner in this particular industry is an advantage.<\/p>\n<h4>What education, schooling, or skills are needed to do this?<\/h4>\n<p>In Europe, esthetics is regarded more of a clinical\/medical industry than it is in the United States; we were required to attend a 4-yr technical school to be licensed.<\/p>\n<h4>How much time off do you get\/take?<\/h4>\n<p>Once a year when I visit my beautiful country \u2013 Slovenia!<br \/>\nAnd the occasional three day weekend to go fishing with my husband \uf04a<\/p>\n<h4>What is a common misconception people have about what you do?<\/h4>\n<p>&#8211; Most people in the States only go to the esthetician on special occasions \u2013 for a pampering facial. I have to spend a lot of time educating clients on how skin care can actually slow down the aging process and help ensure healthy skin.<\/p>\n<h4>What are your goals\/dreams for the future?<\/h4>\n<p>My goal is to become an educator \u2013 extend the work that I do now educating clients about proper skin care to educating skin care professionals so that they can help change people\u2019s lives as well\u2026.<\/p>\n<h4>What else would you like people to know about your job\/career and YOU?<\/h4>\n<p>I love modern dance and am part of a dance company.<\/p>\n<h4>By the way, how did you find out about EuroCircle and when did you join?<\/h4>\n<p>I\u2019ve been looking for other people in Austin from my part of the world because I was homesick and stumbled across the Facebook page (last year).
