That is more than any other EU country.<\/p>\n<p>Early leavers from education and training may face considerable difficulties looking for jobs.\u00a0 The employers may be more reluctant to take them on with their limited education.<\/p>\n<p>An average of 11.2\u00a0% of young people (aged 18\u201324) in the EU were early leavers from education and training in 2014.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The early leavers are defined as young people having completed at most a lower secondary education and not being in further education or training during the four weeks preceding the survey.<\/p>\n<p>I was surprised to see that Italy and the UK also have a higher leaving rate than the EU average with 15.0 and 11.8 percent respectively.\u00a0 Turkey  in particular has a very high rate of younger people departing education and training &#8211; 38.3 percent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/4663\/where-are-europes-early-education-leavers\/\" title=\"Infographic: Where Are Europe's Early Education Leavers? | Statista\"><img src=\"https:\/\/d28wbuch0jlv7v.cloudfront.net\/images\/infografik\/normal\/chartoftheday_4663_where_are_europe_s_early_education_leavers_n.jpg\" alt=\"Infographic: Where Are Europe's Early Education Leavers? | Statista\" style=\"width: 100%; height: auto !important; max-width:960px;-ms-interpolation-mode: bicubic;\"\/><\/a><br \/>\nYou will find more statistics at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.statista.com\/\">Statista<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eurostat recently releases stats that say that whopping\u00a0 21.9 percent of young people in Spain were early leavers from education and training in 2014.
