You are invited to celebrate the rich heritage and diverse culture of the Russian American community at the 4th Annual Russian Mosaic festival Penn’s Landing Great Plaza
WHERE: Penn’s Landing Plaza
Columbus Boulevard between Chestnut & Walnut streets
WHEN: Saturday, September 9, 2006, noon to 7 p.m.
COST: The event is free and open to the public.
This spectacular celebration features the music, artistry and traditions of the tri-state’s third largest ethnic community. Visitors will taste delicious foods from some the region’s finest ethnic (Russian, Ukrainian, and Eastern-European) restaurants while watching performers, crafters and artisans. Last year, thousands of families basked in the breathtaking views of the Delaware riverfront while celebrating the monumental achievements of the Russian American community.
The Russian Mosaic festival, which is organized by the Russian Americans Chamber of Commerce (RACC), is part of the Peco Energy Multicultural Series. Other well-known companies, including Citizens Bank, Lukoil, and Western Union, are co-sponsoring the festival.
The festival is named Russian Mosaic because so many different people and businesses from various walks of life come together on this day, said Marina Kats, president of the Russian Americans Chamber of Commerce. Each represents a different piece of the Russian Mosaic.
This is the premier cultural and social event of the Russian American community, Max Voltchenko, an attorney with the law firm Duane Morris and a member of the Board of Directors of the RACC, said, “This is the place to meet new friends and re-connect with old ones in a relaxed atmosphere. You can also do business networking here, if you like.
